Job Title: One-To-One PMLD Teaching Assistant
Do you have SEN experience working on a one-to-one basis with PMLD students? If so, we have an exciting job opportunity for you. A wonderful North London SEND school is looking for an experienced teaching assistant to join their caring and supportive team. The school is rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, this fantastic provision uses a range of innovative teaching methods to help their students make the most of their educational experience. As a one-to-one Teaching Assistant, you will support a student with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Your responsibilities in this role will include: -Assisting the student with daily tasks, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. -Aiding communication using specialised techniques such as Makaton or PECS. -Supporting the student during therapy sessions, within and outside the classroom. -Creating a safe and secure learning environment. -Promote the student's independence and social interaction. -Monitor the student's progress and provide feedback. Requirements: -Proven experience working with students with PMLD in an educational setting. -An empathetic, compassionate, and patient approach, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students. -Knowledge of relevant communication aids and techniques. -A commitment to promoting the inclusion and well-being of students with special educational needs.
