Job Title: Part time SEND Teaching Assistant
Axcis are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in the Altrincham area for a Part-Time Teaching Assistant. This role involves providing dedicated support to a child in Reception with Down Syndrome, offering a unique and rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child's early educational journey. The position is to start as soon as possible, with working hours from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Initially, the role will require you to work 1 or 2 days a week, with the potential for more hours over time. This is a long-term position with the chance to grow and develop within the role. The main focus of this position is to assist the child in their learning, social interaction, and daily activities, helping to build their confidence and ensure they thrive in the classroom environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to create an inclusive and nurturing learning space. Candidates must have previous experience working with individuals with Down Syndrome, although this experience does not need to have been gained in a school setting. A patient, compassionate, and supportive approach is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively with young children and build strong relationships based on trust.
