Axcis Education is seeking a dynamic and passionate Science/English Teacher to join a vibrant Secondary in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. We are looking for a candidate who is either a qualified teacher or someone with relevant experience and strong subject knowledge in Science or English, who is enthusiastic about working with students to enhance their learning experience. The role will involve supporting students with SEND needs. ASD, ADHD and PDA are some of needs students have. Responsibilities: - Deliver engaging and informative lessons in Science/English that meet the curriculum standards. - Design and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs and abilities of all students. - Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to encourage student participation and foster critical thinking skills. - Monitor and evaluate students' progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure educational goals are being met. - Liaise with colleagues, parents, and guardians to support student success and address educational concerns. - Participate in department meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school-wide professional development. - Maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes learning and respect. - Perform classroom management duties and uphold school policies and procedures. - Implement formative and summative assessment methods to track student progress and provide constructive feedback. - Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with educational best practices. Qualifications: - For Qualified Teachers: A recognized teaching qualification (e.g. QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) relevant to teaching Science or English. - For Unqualified Teachers: Relevant experience in a classroom setting or subject-specific knowledge in Science or English. - Bachelor’s degree in Science/English or a related discipline is preferred. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities. - Effective classroom management strategies. - Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning. - A commitment to inclusive education and the ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds. Pay rate dependant on experience.
