Location: Chingford Contract Type: Full-Time Age Group: Secondary Students Start Date: ASAP Salary: Competitive salary Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant/Mentor to join our team. This is a full-time role working with secondary-aged students, providing vital support to help them thrive academically and personally. Key Responsibilities: - Provide tailored support to secondary-aged students with SEMH needs, promoting their engagement and success in learning. - Work closely with students to develop their emotional resilience and social skills. - Assist in the delivery of personalized learning plans in collaboration with teaching staff. - Act as a mentor, fostering positive relationships and acting as a trusted point of contact for students. - Support classroom activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment. - Help manage challenging behaviour using positive and proactive strategies. What We’re Looking For: - Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEMH needs or behavioural challenges. - A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting students. - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families. - A proactive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. - A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
