Job Title: SEMH Mentor

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated One-to-One Mentor to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a secondary school setting. As a One-to-One Mentor, you will play a crucial role in the personal and academic development of students facing SEMH challenges. You will provide individual support, helping students to overcome barriers to learning, improve their social skills, and build their self-confidence. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-to-one mentoring and support to students with SEMH needs. • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members to ensure a safe learning environment. • Monitor and report on student progress, adapting support strategies as and when necessary. • Assist students in developing coping strategies and resilience. • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in school activities. Requirements: • A strong understanding of SEMH issues and effective intervention strategies. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with students. • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. • Relevant qualifications in education, counselling, or a related field are desirable. • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
