Job Title: SENCO
Axcis is seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join a thriving mainstream secondary school in Oldham. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual with a strong background in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to make a real difference in the lives of students. Position: SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) Location: Mainstream Secondary School, Oldham Type: Full-Time (Part-Time Considered) Salary: Negotiable Key Responsibilities: Oversee the implementation and management of SEND provisions within the school. Lead on the development and review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Coordinate with external organisations and internal staff to ensure the best outcomes for students. Occasionally provide classroom cover if required. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. Ideally, completion of the SENCO course. Extensive knowledge of SEND and EHCP processes. Strong communication skills for liaising with various organisations and school staff. Experience in a similar role, such as SENCO or Assistant SENCO, is preferred but not essential. Ideal Candidate: A proactive and organised individual with a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs. A collaborative team player who can work effectively with colleagues and external agencies. Flexible and adaptable, capable of stepping into a teaching role when necessary.
