Job Title: SEND 1:1- Primary Teaching Assistant
Position: 1:1 Support Teaching Assistant (ASD)
Start Date: ASAP depending on a trial day
Role Overview:
A dedicated 1:1 Support Teaching Assistant is required to provide specialised support to a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a primary school setting. The role involves working closely with the student to help them engage with the curriculum, develop social skills, and navigate the school environment. Experience working with students with ASD is essential.
Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support for a student with ASD, tailored to their individual needs
Implement strategies to help the student engage with classroom activities and learning tasks
Support the student's social and emotional development, fostering positive interactions
Assist with transitions between activities and managing any challenges that arise
Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to create a supportive learning environment
Monitor and report on the student's progress, adapting support as needed
Requirements:
Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Knowledge of effective strategies for supporting students with ASD in a classroom setting
Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
Ability to build rapport and trust with the student
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to start in September
