Job Title: Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant
Location: Tameside Position: Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant Contract: Full-time, Term-time Only Salary: £95.75-£130 per day, experience dependant Are you a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant with a commitment to supporting students with additional needs? Axcis is working in partnership with a vibrant mainstream primary school in Tameside, who are dedicated to providing inclusive, high-quality education for all students, including those who are on the Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) About the Role: As a Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant, you will work closely with students on EHCPs, offering tailored support to help them thrive in both social and academic environments. You’ll collaborate with class teachers, SENCO, and external agencies to create a supportive and inclusive learning space, ensuring each child can reach their full potential. Responsibilities: - Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEND as outlined in their EHCPs. - Implement tailored interventions to support students with Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning or social/emotional needs. - Adapt classroom materials and tasks to support individual learning styles and abilities. - Monitor and track student progress, adjusting support strategies as needed. - Foster a safe, positive environment that encourages confidence, independence, and resilience. Requirements: - Previous experience in a similar role, ideally with a focus on working with SEND students in a primary school setting, and 6 months experience working in UK schools. - Knowledge of the EHCP process and experience implementing EHCP targets. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and the wider school team. - Patience, adaptability, and a passion for inclusive education.
