Job Title: SEND Outreach Tutor - Torbay
SEND Outreach Tutor Totnes, Devon Full Time, Temp to Perm Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00pm Competitive Salary £90-£110 a day and salary from £20,000-£22,500. About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Outreach Tutor to join an inclusive educational team in Totnes. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual, passionate about providing high-quality English and Maths tuition to students aged 11 and older with complex and diverse needs. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver engaging and differentiated English and Maths lessons to individuals or small groups of students with SEND. - Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop individualized learning plans that cater to the students' unique needs and abilities. - Utilize a range of teaching methods and assistive technologies to ensure accessible and effective learning experiences for all students. - Assess and record each student's progress, adapting teaching methods to meet changing needs and abilities. - Act as a mentor and role model, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment that promotes student confidence and independence. - Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to support student learning and wellbeing. - Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance teaching strategies and knowledge of SEND best practices. - Ensure compliance with school policies, procedures, and safeguarding guidelines. Qualifications and Skills: - Experience in an education or support role with individuals with SEND is highly desirable. - Strong subject knowledge in English and Maths. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students, staff, and parents effectively. - Ability to plan, organize, and manage time effectively. - A patient and empathetic approach with the capacity to motivate and inspire students with varying abilities. - Willingness to undertake relevant professional development. - An Enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this post.
