Job Title: SEND Support Specialist - Autism
Position: 1:1 SEND Support Specialist Location: Autism Resource Provision (ARP) N19 Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: DOE £93-110 Per Day Start Date: ASAP We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEND Support Specialist to join our team at our newly opened ARP, providing individualised support for a Year 1 boy with high-needs autism. The child is pre-verbal and sensory seeking, requiring tailored assistance to engage with a bespoke curriculum focused on developing early learning skills. Key Responsibilities: -Provide 1:1 support to a Year 1 boy, focusing on his sensory and communication needs. -Assist in implementing a personalised curriculum designed to develop early learning skills. -Support the child’s access to sensory and communication interventions. -Work closely with the ARP team to adapt learning materials and approaches to meet the child's individual needs. Requirements: -Experience working with high-needs, pre-verbal children, ideally within an autism-specific setting. -Strong understanding of sensory-seeking behaviours and strategies to support children with autism. -Experience delivering interventions such as Attention Autism is highly desirable. -Patience, empathy, and the ability to build a trusting relationship with the child.
