Job Title: Send Teaching Assistant - Primary- Full-time
Axcis are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school team in Tamworth, Staffordshire. The successful candidate will work full-time, offering assistance and support to children with a range of special educational needs. This role requires a caring individual who is passionate about helping each child reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: - Provide one-to-one support to students with SEN, ensuring that they are engaged, motivated, and making progress. - Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs. - Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teachers, and other professionals to offer the best support possible for students with SEN. - Adapt teaching materials and methods to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students. - Support the social, emotional, behavioural, and academic development of students within the classroom and other school environments. - Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians. - Assist with the maintenance of a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for all students. - Manage any challenging behaviour effectively and in line with the school’s policies. - Participate in relevant training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills. Qualifications & Skills: - Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN. - Understanding of the primary education curriculum and the specific requirements of children with SEN. - NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or relevant field is desirable. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, students, and parents. - Patience, empathy, and a positive, encouraging approach to working with children. - Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Good organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks efficiently. - Commitment to the school's ethos and policies, including those relating to safeguarding and equality.
