Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistants - Newquay
Axcis Education are working with a large mainstream primary school in Newquay who are looking to appoint enthusiastic, motivated and flexible SEND Teaching Assistants to join them to start in September. This will begin as a temporary position with the opportunity to become permanent for the right person. As a SEN teaching assistant, you will be required to support the educational, social and physical needs of pupils including those with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and complex behavioural difficulties, supporting the curriculum and school through the assistance of the class teacher. You will need to demonstrate perseverance, resilience, positive relationships and attitudes towards pupils learning needs, staff members and towards parents, governors and local community. Duties and responsibilities will include - - Assist children in developing knowledge, skills and attitudes as defined by the curriculum, taking into account the learning support involved to aid the children to learn effectively - Establish supportive relationships with pupils, encouraging individual development, acceptance, social integration and development of self esteem - Assist with the safe physical and medical needs of pupils - Support pupils with challenging emotional and behavioural difficulties - And other duties related to a teaching assistant position To apply for these positions, successful applicants should - - Able to react and deal effectively with challenging or unpredictable behaviours - Experience of supporting individuals with additional needs such as autism or SEMH needs Working hours - - 8:30am – 3.30pm, Monday - Friday.
