Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SENDCO Class Teacher to join Axcis Education in our vibrant school community in Preston. This role is a balanced split between teaching and fulfilling the responsibilities of a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO). You will work 3 days a week as a classroom teacher and 2 days a week as a SENDCO. Key Responsibilities: Class Teacher (3 days/week): Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Monitor and report on student progress, providing targeted support where necessary. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive teaching approach. SENDCO (2 days/week): Oversee the implementation of the SEND policy and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Identify, assess, and support students with special educational needs and disabilities. Develop and review individual education plans (IEPs) for students, working closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies. Provide training and guidance to staff on SEND best practices and strategies. Maintain up-to-date records and documentation related to SEND provision. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). NASENCO award or willingness to work towards it. Proven experience as a classroom teacher, with a strong understanding of the UK curriculum. Experience in a SENDCO role or a strong interest in pursuing this path. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively and lead on SEND initiatives. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
