Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Mainstream Primary School, East Acton
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm (Full-time)
Salary: £93.48 Competitive pay rates (depending on experience)
Axcis are seeking an experienced teaching assistant to work fulltime in a mainstream primary school, and support various students. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience working in UK mainstream school settings, and working in line with children's EHCP's. The ideal candidate must be patient, and know how to diffuse challenging behaviour. Axcis are looking for someone who has a hands on approach, who is personable, and is very engaging with the children.
Key Responsibilities:
-Supporting students with SEND on a 1:1 basis or within small groups.
-Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
-Implementing strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors.
-Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
-Building strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
-Working collaboratively with other staff members and external professionals to provide the best support for each child.
Requirements:
-Experience as a teaching assistant, preferably within a SEND environment.
-Proven experience dealing with challenging behaviors in a school setting.
-A personable and approachable attitude, with excellent communication skills.
-A valid DBS on the Update Service (essential).
-Ability to commit to the full academic year.
-A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
