Axcis Education are working closely to support a large, all-through specialist school in Torbay for pupils who have cognition & learning difficulties and SEMH. The special school are looking for a learning support assistant (LSA) to join their current team in September. The role is to support alongside a team of experienced LSAs and the class teacher. The school hours are 8.50-3.15. The re of this pay for this position is £80-95 a day, depending on your experience and qualifications. The school currently have almost 200 pupils enrolled and have 20 classrooms for pupils in EYFS to Key Stage 5. The school has state of the art facilities to support the ongoing development of every pupil’s EHCP need, providing a safe, nurturing, and happy environment to allow pupils to flourish. The school provide a child-centered curriculum, which provides breadth and balance, while preparing pupils for challenges they will face in adulthood. For the LSA position, the school are looking for a candidate who has experience communicating and interacting with children or people – this may be in a school setting or a similar sector. You must be friendly, bubbly, and confident with managing situations where children become dysregulated. A strong worth ethic and a resilient attitude is an essential for this role!
