Job Title: Supply Teaching Assistant Location: Martock, Somerset Compensation: £90 per day Job Type: Supply We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Supply Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team within the Martock educational community. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs and possess a natural ability to manage challenging behavior calmly and effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver tailored education support to students with SEMH needs under the direction of the classroom teacher. - Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students. - Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of individual students. - Employ effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and constructive classroom atmosphere. - Provide emotional support and guidance to students facing challenges. - Work closely with teaching staff to monitor and report on student progress. - Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans. - Serve as a role model for students, demonstrating respect, reliability and a commitment to education. Qualifications: - Experience working as a teaching assistant or similar role within an educational setting. - Specific experience and proficiency in supporting children with SEMH challenges. - Strong understanding of confidential and sensitive nature of working in an educational environment. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents. - A positive approach to behaviour management and the ability to stay calm under pressure. - Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
