Job Title: Teacher Location: Yeovil Salary: £180 per day We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Needs Teacher to join a special school in Yeovil, Somerset. This small and welcoming educational setting specialises in supporting students with SEMH needs. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the development and education of our students, helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: - Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons that cater to the various educational needs of students with SEMH difficulties. - Create a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages students to develop socially and academically. - Implement individualised education plans for each student, setting achievable goals and monitoring progress. - Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team including teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to support student development. - Manage classroom behavior effectively, employing strategies that promote positive behavior and emotional well-being. - Maintain clear records of students' progress and development using school systems and procedures. - Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's achievements and areas for development. - Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. - Contribute to the wider school community, supporting school events and initiatives. Qualifications and Experience: - Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent is essential. - Demonstrated experience working with SEN students, particularly those with SEMH needs. - A strong understanding of the national curriculum and SEN best practices. - Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. - Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of special education.
