Job Title: Teaching Assistant for Special Educational Needs
We’re seeking a committed and skilled teaching assistant to join our team in Reading, dedicated to supporting children with diverse special educational needs, including ASD, PMLD, complex needs and challenging behaviours. This role calls for a professional with experience in special education, whether working with children or adults, and a genuine passion for fostering an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere in which students can flourish and thrive.
Position Details:
• Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
• Student Age Range: Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through Key Stages 1 to 4
• Rate of Pay: Starting from £93.48 per day (umbrella rate)
As a Teaching Assistant in this role, you’ll provide focused, one-on-one and small-group support, helping each student reach their potential in a welcoming, structured environment. You will implement tailored strategies to manage and assist students with a range of SEND needs, and when required, provide personal care.
Ideal candidates will bring prior experience with people with SEND, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster supportive relationships with students.
