Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Secondary
Axcis Education is excited to be recruiting for an experienced Secondary Teaching Assistant on behalf of a mainstream secondary school in Altrincham. This is a fantastic full-time (Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4pm), long-term opportunity to start after the Easter break, where you will be working with students in Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), some of whom may have special educational needs (SEND) or behaviour challenges.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be providing essential in-class support, helping students access the curriculum, and promoting positive behaviour. You will support students with a variety of needs, both academic and behavioural, ensuring that they feel engaged, motivated, and included in their education.
You’ll work closely with the class teachers, SENDCo, and other support staff to create a nurturing, inclusive environment.
The Ideal Candidate should have:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a UK secondary school or college.
- Experience supporting students with SEND or behavioural challenges - highly desirable.
- Ability to differentiate teaching and adapt to the individual learning needs of students.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
- A proactive approach to your work, with the ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience is preferred, but not essential.
