Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire Salary: £90 per day Contract Type: Full Time and Part Time positions available Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a inclusive and supportive team in Salisbury, Wiltshire. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in providing tailored support to pupils with autism and complex needs, ensuring they have access to a high-quality education and can achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities: - Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with autism and complex needs, adapting your approach to meet their individual learning requirements. - Collaborate with the class teacher to develop learning materials and strategies that cater to pupils' unique needs, ensuring they are engaged and motivated. - Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans, monitoring progress and making recommendations for adjustments as needed. - Facilitate a safe and nurturing learning environment that encourages pupils to develop their social, emotional, and academic skills. - Utilise positive reinforcement and behaviour management techniques to promote a constructive and inclusive classroom atmosphere. - Support pupils with their communication needs, using alternative communication methods as required, such as PECS or Makaton. - Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals to provide consistent support and updates on pupil progress. - Participate in training and professional development opportunities related to special educational needs and disability provision. - Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, attendance and any incidents or observations of note.
