Job Title: Full-Time Trauma-Informed Teaching Assistant Location: Exeter, UK Contract: Full-Time Salary: £87 - £95 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: ASAP About the Role: We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Trauma-Informed Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic team in Exeter. This is a full-time role where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives, supporting their learning and well-being in a safe and nurturing environment. As a Trauma-Informed Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who may have experienced trauma or other emotional challenges, helping them to build resilience, engage in their learning, and thrive in the classroom. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with additional emotional and educational needs. Implement trauma-informed practices to create a supportive and safe learning environment. Support students in building emotional regulation, social skills, and resilience. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to develop and implement effective strategies for individual students. Assist in the development and delivery of tailored lesson plans and learning resources. Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and other relevant staff. Support students in managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour strategies. Essential Skills & Experience: Experience working with children or young people, ideally within a trauma-informed or SEN setting. Strong understanding of the impact of trauma on learning and behaviour. Compassionate, patient, and a proactive approach to student well-being. Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and external professionals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to promoting inclusive education and creating a supportive classroom environment. Desirable: Experience in working with children who have experienced trauma or adversity.
