Do you believe that you will find supporting the most vulnerable children in the community incredibly rewarding? Did you know that you don’t need any formal teaching assistant qualifications or training to support these students in a SEN school? Or maybe you are a graduate who wants to get valuable experience working in a psychological or educational environment. We are currently recruiting for a Youth Mental Health Support Worker for a specialist school based in Bath. The school offers a unique and inclusive education for primary and secondary aged children who have social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) This school is far more interested in finding the right person to understand their children and to fit into their culture. Here's just a few of the best examples: • Graduates: especially art, drama, psychology and criminology • Youth leaders • Support workers • Sports coaches This is not for the faint hearted! Walking through the school you will bit exposed to colourful language, and you may be met with some hostility from the students initially. But with patience and understanding you will build close relationships which will make this role rewarding like no other. You may only have a small handful of children in the class with lots of support from the teacher and teaching assistant. There is a brilliant sense of humour among staff and progress is determined on all aspects of development rather than just SATS results.
