Job Title: Youth Worker
Axcis Education are seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a role in an Salford secondary school.
The school is larger than average and caters for KS3 / 4 pupils, The school are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work alongside some of their more challenging pupils. Ideally, the school is looking to appoint a learning support assistant who comes from a background in youth work as they have found previously that candidates from a youth work background tend to build rapport well with pupils who struggle to engage in the curriculum.
The role is full time, to start in January 2025 and school hours are 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday - Friday. The role will require you to assist in a number of lessons alongside a range of teachers and students, supporting those who struggle with their behaviour in lessons and also those who have additional needs and therefore require extra support. The role would suit a candidate who has worked in education before, but this is not essential.
The candidate should be enthusiastic, confident and calm. The candidate must be available full time and be able to work the above hours, ideally, the candidate will be available immediately but the school can allow for a short notice period. The candidate will be experienced in working with children, ideally those of a secondary age and have some experience working on a 1:1 basis with children or adults who can display challenging behaviours. The pay for this role is weekly and rates of pay are very competitive.
