About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and empathetic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a secondary school in Barking. The successful candidate will work closely with students who experience behavioural challenges, supporting them to engage with the curriculum, improve their behaviour, and succeed in a positive and structured learning environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse group of students, supporting them with their social, emotional, and academic development, and helping them overcome barriers to learning. If you have experience working with students with behavioural issues and a passion for supporting young people, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with behavioural issues, helping them engage with lessons and develop positive learning habits.
Implement strategies to manage behaviour and promote a positive and respectful classroom environment.
Support students in overcoming emotional or social barriers to learning, helping them build resilience and self-regulation skills.
Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
