Teaching Assistant for Student with Complex Needs Position: Teaching Assistant for Student with Complex Needs Location: Croydon Job Type: Full-Time About Us: Axcis is working with a primary school in Croydon, looking for a teaching assistant to help support with students with complex needs. The school is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive. They are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team in supporting a student with complex needs. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with children and young adults, offering tailored support to ensure they can reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 support to a student with complex needs, including but not limited to physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and communication challenges. • Support the development of the student’s academic, social, and emotional growth through personalized learning strategies. • Assist in creating and implementing individual learning plans in collaboration with teachers and other staff. • Help with the use of assistive technology and specialized equipment to aid learning. • Support the student during class activities, transitions, and physical tasks. • Foster a positive and encouraging classroom environment that promotes inclusivity. • Maintain accurate records of the student's progress and behaviour and report to relevant staff. Requirements: • Experience working with children or young adults with complex needs, ideally in an educational setting. • A passion for working with students with additional needs and a commitment to their well-being. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. • Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to problem-solving. • A background in healthcare, therapy, or special education (advantageous but not essential). • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
