Job Title: KS2 Teaching Assistant
Job Title: KS2 Teaching Assistant (with ASD 1:1 support) Location: Bolton We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at our inclusive school in Bolton. As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will provide invaluable support to our Key Stage 2 students, with a particular focus on assisting a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a one-to-one basis. Key Responsibilities: - Work under the direction of the class teacher to deliver planned educational activities and programs. - Provide 1:1 support to a KS2 student with ASD, tailoring assistance to the child's individual learning needs. - Encourage the child’s engagement in social activities and learning objectives. - Implement strategies to support the child’s communication and interaction skills. - Monitor the student’s progress and provide feedback to the class teacher. - Assist with the development of social skills and behavior management. - Support the child with transitions within the school day. - Prepare learning materials as instructed by the class teacher. - Contribute to a safe, positive learning environment. - Participate in relevant meetings and training sessions as required. - Adhere to school policies, including those relating to safeguarding and confidentiality. Requirements: - Experience working with children with ASD or similar special educational needs. - A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or comparable experience working in an educational setting. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents. - Patience, empathy, and a positive, encouraging attitude. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
