The school is seeking a compassionate and proactive full-time Learning Support Assistant to join their team. Hours: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Key Responsibilities: Offer tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with autism and complex needs, helping them engage with the curriculum and develop essential life skills. Assist the class teacher in lesson delivery and adapt resources to cater to the individual needs of students. Support in managing challenging behaviours, using de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour support strategies. Essential Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or complex learning needs. A solid understanding of autism, sensory processing, and communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or visual supports. Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting students with challenging behaviours.
