Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant - Full-time - Secondary
We are currently looking for a resilient and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. This is a full-time role where you will have the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs and disabilities. Key Responsibilities: - Provide tailored support to secondary-aged pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including ASD, ADHD, behavioural difficulties, and learning disabilities. - Facilitate small group and one-to-one sessions to aid pupils in achieving their academic and personal development targets. - Attend professional development training and staff meetings as required to stay updated on best practices in SEND education. Qualifications: - A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience working with SEND pupils. - An understanding of the secondary curriculum and the barriers pupils with SEND may face. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents. - Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. - A proactive and flexible approach to work with a strong commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
