Job Title: Wellbeing Coach Location: Newton Abbot, Devon Job Type: Temporary to Permanent (Subject to Performance) Start Date: November 2024 Working Hours: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm Salary: £85 - £100 per day (Dependent on Experience and Qualifications) The Role: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Wellbeing Coach to join our alternative provision in the heart of Teignbridge, assisting with the learning and holistic development of pupils aged 8 to 16. Our ideal candidate will provide dedicated support to students who are facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges, as well as those who have experienced trauma. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a pivotal stage in our pupils' lives, helping to shape their futures in a positive and meaningful way. Responsibilities: - Deliver well-structured and engaging wellbeing sessions that support the development of pupils' emotional intelligence, resilience, and self-esteem. - Work collaboratively with teaching staff to create an inclusive and therapeutic learning environment. - Employ a range of strategies to support pupils with various social, emotional, and mental health needs. - Facilitate individual and group coaching sessions that are tailored to meet the diverse needs of the pupils. - Motivate and inspire pupils to engage fully in their education and personal growth. - Contribute to the planning and delivery of outdoor educational activities that harness the interests and strengths of all pupils. - Monitor and report on students' progress, constantly seeking ways to improve their experience and outcomes. - Maintain professional and supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers. Requirements: - Proven experience in working with children, particularly those with SEMH difficulties. - Ability to build rapport and effectively support children with challenging behaviors. - Flexible approach to adapt to varying needs of the pupils both in and out of the classroom setting. - Full UK driving license and the ability to travel as required. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. - Appropriate qualifications in child development, coaching, mental health, or a related field are highly advantageous. - Eligibility to work in the UK.
