Job Title: Youth worker - former care worker

Are you a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated former care worker looking to make a positive impact in an educational environment? We are seeking experienced individuals to join our team at Axcis Education and provide support to students in a high school setting.
This role is Monday to Friday, 8:30-15:30.
This large SEND school provides a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for students with a wide range of needs. With a strong commitment to ensuring the best possible outcomes for each student, the school offers impressive training and career progression opportunities to all staff.
About the Role:
As a school support worker, you will play a vital role in assisting students with additional learning or emotional support needs. Your experience in care work will be invaluable as you offer guidance, encouragement, and tailored support to help students achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teaching staff and the school's pastoral team to ensure that each student receives the help they need to thrive in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and group support for students, particularly those with additional needs.
• Assist with classroom activities, ensuring that students are engaged and supported.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Promote emotional well-being and help manage any behavioural concerns.
• Support teachers and other school staff in the delivery of lessons and activities.
• Liaise with parents and other professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Essential Requirements:
• Previous experience working in care or a support role (e.g., social care, healthcare, or special educational needs).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with young people.
• A caring, patient, and proactive approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• An enhanced DBS adult and child is required
Desirable:
• Experience working in a school or educational setting (but not essential).
• Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) or safeguarding policies.
