Job Title: Behaviour Teaching Assistant
Behaviour Teaching Assistant – PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) – Horwich
Start Date: 22nd April 2024
Pay Rate: £95 - £105 per day
Location: Horwich
Are you a resilient and compassionate Behaviour Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)?
We are seeking a dedicated individual to support students with challenging behaviour and complex needs in a specialist setting in Horwich.
The Role:
Supporting students who have been excluded from mainstream education, helping them re-engage with learning
Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
Building strong, trusting relationships to support students’ emotional and social development
Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to create a structured, nurturing environment
Requirements:
Experience working in a PRU, alternative provision, or with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs
A calm, patient, and firm but fair approach to behaviour management
The ability to stay composed in challenging situations and build rapport with disengaged learners
Team Teach or other behaviour management training (desirable but not essential)
