Job Title: Learning support assistant

Salary: Day rate from £83.40 depending on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, Agency
Axcis Education are currently seeking a dedicated learning support assistant to work in a school on behalf of our agency, supporting students in their academic journey and helping to create an inclusive learning environment.
As an LSA, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to support students with a variety of learning needs, ensuring they receive the assistance they need to succeed both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with a range of learning needs, including SEN, to help them access the curriculum.
• Assist the classroom teacher in the preparation and delivery of lessons, resources, and activities.
• Support students with their individual learning goals, helping them to stay engaged and progress.
• Encourage positive behaviour and support students’ social and emotional development.
• Monitor students’ progress, record achievements, and provide feedback to the teacher.
• Adapt learning resources to suit individual student needs, ensuring an inclusive learning environment.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with additional learning needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure effective support for all students.
• Supervise students during break times, lunchtime, and other non-teaching periods.
Requirements:
• Experience working with children or young people, particularly in a learning support or educational setting.
• A genuine passion for supporting children in their learning and development.
• Excellent communication skills, both with students and staff.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual students.
• A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), is desirable but not essential.
• A DBS check will be required (or you must be willing to undergo one).
