Job Title: Secondary SEND Cover Supervisor
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cover Supervisor to join the supportive team at a mainstream secondary school in Perry Barr, Birmingham. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with a keen interest in providing educational support to students with additional needs.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Confidently delivering planned lessons to secondary-aged students with a range of special educational needs.
- Managing classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Adapting teaching methods and resources to meet the diverse and changing needs of students within the classroom.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback as necessary.
- Collaborating with teaching staff and other professionals to support the wellbeing and development of students.
- Be prepared to carry out additional duties and responsibilities as required, including administrative tasks and support during examinations.
**Qualifications & Experience:**
- Experience working with students with additional needs. UK-based experience of at least 12 months is preferred.
- A valid Enhanced DBS registered with the DBS Update Service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think on your feet and adapt quickly to unforeseen challenges.
- Familiar with the UK secondary education curriculum and confident in delivering planned lessons.
- Strong organisational and classroom management skills.
