Salary: £15.66 per hour
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:45 AM – 3:15 PM
About the Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a student with autism in a mainstream school environment. In this role, you will support a student aged 16-19, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Your work will play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive and supportive educational setting, helping the student with autism navigate both academic tasks and social interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 support to a student with autism, ensuring their learning needs and emotional wellbeing are met.
• Assist with implementing personalized learning plans, tailored to the student's individual needs.
• Support the student during classroom activities, helping them engage with lessons and social interactions.
• Work closely with teaching staff to monitor and assess the student’s progress and development.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement, ensuring the student feels safe and valued in the school environment.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
• A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the student’s evolving needs.
• Enthusiasm for working with young people and helping them succeed in their educational journey.
