Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with autism? Axcis Education are seeking a committed and patient individual to work in a specialist autism school in Ormskirk. This is a full time position, working Monday to Friday, 8.30 - 3.30 on a long term basis. The success applicant would be supporting primary and secondary aged pupils, with a range of learning needs, in a nurturing and structured environment. As a teaching assistant, you would be expected: • Support students with autism and additional needs on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. • Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning plans to help students achieve their full potential. • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment. • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to support students’ progress. To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience working with autism in some form, ideally in a school setting, though we consider applicants with experience from care, residential, youth work or even personal experience. This experience can be with either adults or children. You will require an enhanced DBS for this role - if you do not have one, Axcis can help you apply for a new one.
