Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with ASD.
- Utilise a variety of teaching strategies to foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including SENCOs, therapists, and parents, to develop individualised learning plans.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to promote academic and social growth.
- Create a warm and trusting atmosphere to encourage students to communicate and participate actively.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement and clear expectations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices for teaching students with ASD.
Essential Qualifications & Traits:
- Must be a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) holder.
- Proven experience in teaching SEND children, with a strong emphasis on working with ASD students.
- An empathetic, friendly, and approachable demeanour.
- A relentless drive to make educational experiences memorable and meaningful.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
