Job Title: Mental Health Youth Support Worker, Stroud
In partnership with a well renowned, ever expanding college in Stroud, Axcis are looking to recruit a specialist Mental Health Youth Support Worker to support learners aged 16-19 with SEMH (Social and Emotional Mental Health) difficulties, Mild ADHD and Mild Autism. The students themselves are engaging, they themselves have asked for the support and studying a variety of exciting, different and interesting subjects, are looking for someone to support them in their studies - keeping them on task, providing further explanations where necessary, note taking if needs be and provide moral and pastoral support if the students feel overwhelmed or struggle throughout the lessons / daily schedule. This is a super position for anyone who meets the following criteria: - Is looking for a full time long term consistent role for the full academic year - Can work 9-4.30 Monday to Friday - Is empathetic, compassionate and has a approachable personality and warm calming aura about themselves - Has experience supporting individuals with SEN, ideally SEMH although this is not a necessity, whether that be personally and/ or professionally - Is wanting to make a difference and really cares about providing support The college is keen to appoint someone for this support asap and is more so keen to ensure they are the right fit. They have a great team of support workers, student mentors, tutors and senior leadership who all work together in an inclusive, supportive environment. The college is situated on a bus route and so is easily accessible by public transport in addition to having a large staff car park. The pay ranges from £14.94 - £17.50 per hour and you will be paid weekly, every Friday a week in arrears. You must have a child and adult DBS on the update service to work here and so if you don't have one, we can help you to get one!
